Fujian Tulou won the title of " World heritage site"

The National Commission of China for UNESCO awarded certificates to 5 Chinese heritage sites which have won the title of "world heritage site" in the past 3 years December 23 in Beijing.

The 5 sites include the Fujian Tulou (Yongding, Nanjing and Hua'an), Wutai Mountain (Shanxi), Sanqing Mountain (Jiangxi), the Kaiping Towers (Guangdong), and the Karst Landform in southern China (Yunnan, Guizhou and Chongqing). Currently, China has 38 world heritage sites, ranking third in the world.

The Fujian Tulou, which have been listed as world heritage sites, were constructed during the Song and Yuan Dynasties and perfected in the Ming, Qing Dynasties and the Republic of China period. Tulou consist of 46 buildings in total including 4 main buildings and 6 other building groups. They are located in Yongding, Nanjing and Hua'an counties, of which Yongding county is home to the focal part of Tulou with 3 building groups and 2 main buildings situated there.
