Sino-Russian art festival continues in Beijing
By admin on 2014-12-22

Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) kicked off their Chinese-Russian Undergraduate Art Festival last Thursday, with 2,000 students participating from both countries set to run until November 2.

Over 50 students from Moscow, Caucasus, Central Asia and China will exchange cultural performances of traditional dances and music from their respective regions.

"This is a great opportunity to know more about Russian culture," said Yang Tong, an international relations major at BFSU. "I watched their national dance and it sparked my interest."

"I was here last year for the same event," said student-performer Khapacheva Aminet as she sat with the audience after finishing her dance, the memory of her last visit bringing a smile to her face.

"It was so interesting to find that dances by two peoples actually share a lot in common. I found the performance absolutely captivating."

The event also commemorates the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia.
