On February 13th , 2011, the Confucius Institute at UT Dallas and the Chinese Students and Scholars Association of the University of Texas of Southwestern Medical Centre (UTSW) and Southern Methodist University (SMU) met together to welcome 2011 Festival of Lanterns and celebrate Chinese New Year.

Gala was held in SMU Hughes-Trigg Student Center. The students from the universities and the local social circles gathered in the hall to friendly talk about the Rabbit Year. The witty and interesting performances by the university students got warm applause. The UTD Confucius Institute Group from China Three Gorges University offered the grand final program" Chinese Style Joint-singing". The gentle and beautiful songs and traditional fair maiden group put the party to a climax, which received warm acclaim and applause continuously. Rich deep connotation of songs with ancient customs let Chinese and foreign audiences intoxicated in Chinese cultural charm.
