At 10, February 10th, 7K3 students in Kingsford Community School, London made lanterns under the guidance of their Mandarin teacher Mr. Bensley and expressed their best wishes.

Mr. Bensley handed out a piece of paper on which there was a Chinese dragon. When the students saw the dragon, they began to talk about China, Chinese culture and whatever they knew about China. They seemed to be the experts about China. Mr. Bensley asked the students to choose the colour they liked to colour the dragon, and most of the students chose red, because they knew red is the lucky colour in China and what we Chinese people use to decorate for festivals. Some students even drew the Chinese national flag. After they finished making the lanterns, they took their works to the front and were highly spoken of by their teacher.

They students stood around the lanterns and expressed their best wishes to all and wish them a happy Chinese New Year. They also said they loved Chinese Paper making stuffs, which not only brought joy to their lesson but also let them learn more about China.
