On 8th, December 2010, the opening ceremony of New Line Learning Academy's Confucius Classroom is held accompanied by the inspiring lion dance. The whole school and social celebrities are invited to attend the ceremony.

The mayor of Maidstone, Mr.Cllr Eric Hotson, cuts the ribbon and Miss Xiaoming Zhu from SSAT office also attends the opening ceremony.

After the grand opening ceremony, the guests enjoy a variety of Chinese performances including singing and dancing, folk music, martial arts and the introduction to Traditional Chinese medicine. Mr. Shicun Chen, from Lambeth Academy, introduces Traditional Chinese Medicine, herbal medicines, acupuncture and moxibustion, Tuinaology, Qikong therapy to the audience. And then, the on-spot treatment is carried out to the patients with scapulohumeral periarthritis and osteoarthritis. The little silver needles show the clinic charm of acupuncture which was elected as the world intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO just days before.

With the development of TCSL, the teaching focus is gradually changed from language teaching to the teaching of classic cultures. Traditional Chinese medicine is the combination of Chinese classic cultures. Letting the pupil and middle school students the basic theories of TCM will absolutely play an important role in the future exchange of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine.
