Shenzhen Outdoor Travel

Oct. 18  -- The city of Shenzhen in Guangdong Province has some beautiful parks and gardens which are ideal for an easy stroll on weekends or holidays. The golf courses around the city are also frequently visited by locals and visitors, and the beach activities are not to be missed.

Hiking

Shenzhen has several hiking routes suitable for a day trip. Instead of getting trapped among the steel and concrete, visitors are encouraged to go to the suburbs to relax the mind and body.


Fairy Lake Botanical Gardens

The Fairy Lake Botanical Gardens are located in Liantang, Luohu district in Shenzhen, Guangdong. These picturesque gardens are the largest in the province. There are over 3,000 varieties of plants, and nature lovers find it is an ideal place to go hiking or just relax.

Transportation: visitors can take bus No.382 to get to the gardens.

 


Qiniang Mountain

Located in Xinda village, Xinao town in eastern Shenzhen, Qiniang Mountain is the second highest peak in Shenzhen, reaching 867 meters. There are seven major hills and seven goddesses on and around Qiniang Mountain.

Transportation: visitors can take bus No.360 to Nanao town and then take a minibus to Qiniang Mountain.

Whether you are a seasoned golfer, or a beginner, Shenzhen has a variety of choices to fit your level and experience.




Mission Hills Golf Club

Located in Guanlan town, between the cities of Shenzhen and Dongguan, the Mission Hills Golf Club is the largest and most impressive one in Shenzhen. It was acknowledged as the world's largest golf facility by Guinness World Records in 2004, and it has 11 championship courses and an 18-hole par three course, each designed by a different golf personality.

Transportation: take the minibus No.312 from Futian Bus Station in Shenzhen to Mission Hills Golf Club.

 

Xili Golf and Country Club

Located in Nanshan district in Shenzhen, Xili Golf and Country Club boasts a golf club with the highest quality of service in Southern China, and has a distinctive Southern Californian style. It features two 18 holes championship golf courses. Players can enjoy a challenging day's golf in the amazing surroundings.

Transportation: visitors can take Nanping Express to get there.

Beach activity


 


Facing the South China Sea, Shenzhen is endowed with a long coastline and beautiful beaches. Of the numerous beaches, Dameisha and Xiaomeisha are the two most popular beaches.

Shenzhen Da Meisha and Xiao Meisha beaches, are a half-hour drive from the city. They boast crystal clear water, and visitors enjoy water sports, sun-bathing and barbecues.

How to get there: it takes only about 40 minutes by bus to reach the seashore from downtown.
