Meli Snow Mountain

Located at the boundary of Yunnan and Tibet, the Meli Snow Mountain is within Deqin County in Yunnan Province. On the mountain range there are 13 peaks at an average altitude of above 6000 meters, which are called "13 Peaks of Princes". Among the peaks, the altitude of the highest peak Kawagebo is 6740 meters, the highest peak in Yunnan as well. The magazine National Geographic of the U.S. once listed it as one of the "Last Five Pure Lands" in the world. The snowy land is endowed with the unique treasures of nature-the alpine lakes, thick forests, fancy flowers and all kinds of wild animals. In the eyes of the Tibetans, the Meli Snow Mountain is even holier than the Mount Everest as the greatest mountain in the area.
