Pale Complexion: Eat Peanuts and Dates Brewed with Honey

Cause:

Pale complexion is caused mainly by the deficiency of vital energy.

Ingredients:

100g of red dates; 100g of peanuts; and 200g of honey

Directions:

1.  Soak the dates and peanuts in lukewarm water;

2.  Place in a pot, add some water, and brew until they turn soft; and

3. Add honey and cook until the soup turns thick and sticky.

Effects:

Dates and honey supplement qi, the peanuts' skins enrich the blood, and peanut flesh softens skin. You will have rosy cheeks after you eat this dish several times.

Wrinkles: Mashed Potatoes

Cause:

Wrinkles on the face are generally caused by deficiencies of the spleen and stomach.

Ingredients:

500g of potatoes, some walnuts, red dates, hawthorns and green plums 

Directions:

1. Thoroughly cook the potatoes, remove their skins and mash them;

2. Add the walnuts, red dates, hawthorns and green plums; and

3. Steam the food for about 10 minutes and add honey.

Effects:

Potatoes invigorate the spleen and kidneys, the walnuts are good for the brain, and they moisten the respiratory tract, and dates supplement qi and enrich the blood. Eating this dish will help you eliminate wrinkles and moisten your skin.

Thinning Hair: Diced Fried Eggs, Peanuts and Chinese Wolfberries

Cause:

Thinning hair is caused mainly by the lack of vital energy and deficiencies of the kidneys and/or the blood.

Ingredients:

Two eggs, some Chinese wolfberries, peanuts, diced lean meat, tubers of dwarf lilytuves (a traditional Chinese medicine), salt, starch and peanut oil

1. Wash the tubers of dwarf lilyturves and cook them, then cut them into the size of soybeans;

2. Add salt to the lean meat, and mix it with starch;

3. Steam the eggs into an egg cake, then dice it;

4. Fry the diced lean meat, and mix it well with the tubers of dwarf lilyturves, Chinese wolfberries, and the diced egg; and

5. Add some salt, thicken with starch, and then place in a dish. Sprinkle some crisp fried peanuts over the dish.

Effects:

The food will protect your hair and help slow aging.
