Xiamen Railway Station saw a post-holiday travel rush

Xiamen Railway Station saw a post-holiday travel rush on Sunday, after the 7-day Chinese Lunar New Year holiday came to an end.

The number of arrival passengers to the station hit 37,700, and some 10,000 passenger departed from the station on Sunday.

Railways, highways and airports across the country have seen increasing passenger flow since Thursday, as millions of students, migrant workers and tourists return to work or study after the traditional Spring Festival.

According to the Xiamen Railway Station, as of Feb. 21, all Beijing-bound advance berth tickets were sold out for the following 10 days, and all advance tickets were sold out for the following 7 days.

In addition, Chongqing, Kunming, Xi’an and Taiyuan bound berth tickets are hard to get, only berth tickets for trains leaving after Feb 28 are available.

Passengers can also dial 16881677 to book train tickets but only a Chinese voice service is currently available.
