306 works of outstanding Chinese photographers displayed in Xiamen

A photography exhibition, jointly hosted by the Soong Ching Ling Foundation, Global Chinese Photographic Society and Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Culture, is on display in Xiamen during Spring Festival. The exhibition displays 306 photographic works created by 29 prominent Chinese photographers. 

The exhibition aims at carrying forward the national culture and promoting the innovation and development of culture and arts. Authors participating in the exhibition include not only the artists from the older generation, like Chen Fuli and Jian Qingfu, but also creative artists of more avant-garde ideas and techniques, like Li Shaobai and Jin Ping.

It's the first debut for many works in the exhibition, including the scarce life sketches of Chou En-lai and Zhu De, the late national leaders of the P.R.C, according to the organizer.

The exhibition is being held at the Xiamen Gallery and will last till 28 Feb 2010. Prior to the exhibition, it has displayed successively in Shanghai, Beijing, Chongqing and Macao.
