A simple click on the menu and your Chinese New Year’s Eve dinner will be delivered to your home by restaurants. Recently, a new trend for the New Year's Eve celebration has appeared: many restaurants have launched online booking services for family reunion dinner on the Chinese New Year's Eve.

Online shopping for New Year's Eve dinner means ordering partially prepared dishes to be delivered by restaurants and cooking at home for the family reunion. The prices range from 100 yuan – 2,000 yuan per set menu. Most of them are prepared by local restaurants in Shanghai, Hangzhou and Nanjing.

A set menu of 388-yuan New Year's Eve dinner includes some popular and traditional Chinese dishes such as fried beef in oyster sauce, Kongpao chicken (diced chicken in chili sauce), roasted chicken wings, braised pork chops. 

Another appealing aspect of online-shopping for New Year's Eve dinner is that it gives customers the choice of different foods from different regions, enabling them to taste authentic local cuisines at home. 
  

In Xiamen, some restaurants have already opened their e-shops. Mingyang Tianxia Restaurant, the first restaurant that launched online dinner booking services in Xiamen, has some of their popular dishes on sale online.

"The online booking for dinner is popular especially during festivals. We are going to launch more set menus for Chinese New Year's Eve dinner so that customers can easily have a family reunion dinner at home." said Ms. Lv, general manager of Mingyang Tianxia.
