“Travel to China”

South Wootton infant school is one of the link schools with KES (King Edward VII School), there are 190 kids there, in order to open the students’ horizon, the school decided to take the kids to travel around the world. They stayed one day in each main country in each continent. This week, the kids travelled to Asia; they would go to China, Japan, and India. Today, they began their travelling in China. They took plane to each country, and got a Chinese stamp on their passport.

The two Hanban teachers gave a performance about Taiji Fan dance and folk dance separately before they taught which shocked the students how interesting the Chinese culture is. Then they taught some simple Tai Ji Fan dance and folk dance. The kids were so much happy to play with the fans and dancing cloths, trying to imitate the teachers, especially when they heard the sound the fans made and when they successfully could keep circling the dancing cloth in the air.

Because there were no enough Tai Ji fans, the students had to make some fans by themselves. They drew Tai Ji symbols, the Chinese National flag, or wrote a few Chinese characters on their fans. So they could try the real fans one row by another, while the left kids might still have something in their hands.

The kids said they had a fantastic day in China, they even wish they can come back in the future…
