Beijing's Mentougou to Build Seven-star Hotel
Southwestern Beijing's Mentougou District will build a seven-star hotel and a 500-meter-high tour tower in the near future, the head of the district said on Friday.
According to a report from the Legal Evening News, Wang Hongzhong told the media at Friday's news conference that the plan to extend Chang'an Avenue, Beijing's main east-west artery, 6.4 kilometers westward so as to join the suburban Mentougou District, has been approved recently and Beijing's first maglev train linking the urban district and Mentougou District will start construction on September 15th.
Wang revealed the district will make new developments along the maglev line as well as the extended Chang'an Avenue.
Among the current twelve projects, the district will cooperate with Saudi Arabia to build a seven-star hotel and establish a 500-meter-high tour tower at the end of the extended Chang'an Avenue as a new landmark building of the district, Wang added.
