Lingshan Mountain

Lingshan Mountain in northwestern Mentougou district is the highest mountain in Beijing. It boasts magnificent peaks, large areas of alpine meadow and rich animal and plant resources. During springtime, meadows thrive with green grass and languid white sheep wander across the meadow, while the top of the mountain is covered with snow all year round. And because of the cool weather, Lingshan Mountain is also the only place in the capital to see mountain yaks.

Yougushentan Natural Scenic Area

Hongluo Temple

Located at the foot of Hongluo Mountain, Hongluo Temple is 7 kilometers northwest of Huairou district. Originally erected in 348 AD and renovated during the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD), it is the largest Buddhist temple in northern China. With wild flowers, various pines and fresh air, the temple is worth a visit, especially during the spring and summer. Visitors can burn incense and stroll from hall to hall under a shade created by the canopy of trees inside the yard.

Beijing Happy Valley
