In order to enhance the communication and cultural exchange between China and countries along the Silk Road Economic Belt, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SHUTCM) has set up a scholarship to support students from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Russia, who would study Chinese language and traditional Chinese medicine at the univty.

Pak Anastassiya, a Kazakhstan student learning Chinese language at the international education school of the university, is granted the first scholarship.

Foreign students from those countries studying for a degree at the university can apply for the scholarship. Students in bachelor, master and doctorate degrees can be provided with a total of 20,000 yuan ($3,222), 18,000 yuan and 24,000 yuan each during the whole study period.
